Samples Prevent Costly Mistakes in Bulk
Digital proofs show you the design before printing. Physical samples show you the feel, fit and finish. Production runs confirm quality before the full order. Skipping samples means gambling with thousands of boxes.

Digital Proof
The first check:
- Shows design, colors and layout
- Free and fast
- Confirms artwork before printing
- Not a physical box
When to use: After design, before printing. Good for checking colors, text and layout.
Physical Sample
The critical check:
- Real box, real materials
- Checks feel, fit and finish
- Your product fits the insert
- Approves before bulk production
When to use: Before bulk order. The most important step — this is what you touch and feel.
Production Run
The final check:
- First boxes from the production line
- Confirms bulk quality
- Checks consistency
- Approves full run
When to use: At the start of production. Good for confirming bulk quality matches the sample.
What to Check on a Physical Sample
- Size and fit — Does your product fit?
- Material feel — Is the board thick enough?
- Print quality — Are colors accurate?
- Edge finish — Are edges clean?
- Cierre — Does the magnetic clasp work?
- Insert fit — Does your product sit securely?

Common Sample Mistakes
- Skipping samples — Bulk order arrives and it’s wrong
- Only checking digital proof — Digital doesn’t show feel
- Not checking product fit — Product doesn’t fit the insert
- No sample approval — Production starts without sign-off
- Same sample for all runs — Each design needs its own sample
