Description
What Is a Flute?
Corrugated board is made of two flat liners sandwiching a wavy inner layer. Those waves are called flutes. The size of the flute determines how strong, thick, and printable the board is.
Choosing the right flute is the most important decision in corrugated packaging.

Conseil : If you want a premium look but at corrugated prices, ask about litho-lamination — a printed label glued onto the corrugated board.
Erreurs courantes
- Wrong flute — Too weak = boxes crush in shipping
- Too thin board — Flimsy boxes look unprofessional
- No corner protection — Weak corners fail first
- Forgetting edge crush test — Ask for ECT rating for heavy items
- Underestimating stacking strength — Boxes on pallets need stronger board
