Description
A Dented Corner Kills The Luxury Feel
Your cosmetic box looks stunning on screen. Then it arrives at the customer’s door with a crushed corner, scuffed foil or a dented lid. Luxury packaging that arrives damaged doesn’t feel luxury — it feels like a cheap product. Shipping protection isn’t optional for beauty brands.

Corner Protectors
The first line of defense:
- Small L-shaped plastic or cardboard corner guards
- Fit over all four corners of the box
- Absorb impact from drops
- Cheap and easy to apply
- Reusable and recyclable (cardboard type)
Idéal pour : All rigid cosmetic boxes shipped individually.
Bubble Wrap Wrapping
The full-wrap approach:
- Wrap the entire cosmetic box in bubble wrap
- Prevents surface scuffing
- Absorbs shock from drops
- Adds bulk and weight (higher shipping cost)
Idéal pour : Premium boxes with foil stamping or soft-touch lamination.
Outer Shipping Carton
Don’t ship the cosmetic box alone:
- Place the cosmetic box inside a slightly larger corrugated carton
- Fill empty space with void fill (kraft paper or air pillows)
- The cosmetic box shouldn’t move inside the outer carton
- Use double-wall carton for heavier products
Idéal pour : All DTC shipping. The outer carton takes the beating, your cosmetic box stays perfect.
Packing Checklist
Before shipping, check:
- Cosmetic box is closed securely — Lid fully shut, no gap
- Corner guards on all 4 corners — Plastic or cardboard
- Cosmetic box fits in outer carton — With 2–5cm gap on all sides
- Void fill fills empty space — Box doesn’t rattle when shaken
- Outer carton is strong enough — Double-wall for fragile items
- Label clearly marked — “This Way Up” / “Fragile” if needed
Warehouse Storage Tips
Even before shipping:
- Don’t stack cosmetic boxes more than 5 layers high
- Store in a dry area (moisture warps boxes)
- Keep away from direct sunlight (fades colors)
- Don’t store heavy items on top of cosmetic boxes
- Use shelving, not floor stacking

Good packing adds (0.30–)0.80 per order in materials. It pays for itself if it prevents even one damaged order.
Common Packing Mistakes
- No outer carton — Cosmetic box shipped alone gets crushed
- Too much empty space — Box bounces around and gets damaged
- No corner guards — Corners dent on impact
- Weak outer carton — Shipping bag instead of box
- No void fill — Product moves inside the box
- Over-stacking in warehouse — Bottom boxes crush
